A year off in Combodia

Some time ago, I was in the Kingdom of Cambodia during one year. I wanted to go to this country because one day I saw a reportage on it and I found this very beautiful. So, at the end of my years of study, I decided to take part in humanity project in Cambodia.

The first five months, I was in a orphonage near the garbage dumps of Phnom Penh where I helped the children to wash and eat. I also taught them the rules of hygiene, I practiced sports with them (like football), I have encouraged their development by teaching them a new game. And sometimes I had the children do their homework. Unfortunately, time passed quickly and the first five months came to an end.
The second part of my gap year can be intituled "Cambodia tour". Indeed, this part of my travel was focused on culture. I saw rice crops in rural Cambodia that represents the main economic activity. I learnt that the Buddhism is the state religion since 1989. But best of all was the meating with the Cambodian community! People are welcoming and their language, the Khmer is very interesting. Their ancestor had the temple Angkor Wat erected which is very impressive.

It's an unforgetable experience !
